In 1986, Santa Fe Place became the first residential neighborhood of Kansas City, Missouri to receive historic designation by the National Register of Historic Places.

The neighborhood’s history was published in 1994 by the Lowell Press, Kansas City, Mo. as “Santa Fe Place: Moving to the Top of the Hill”. The creation and publication of this book was made possible by a grant from the Jacob L. and Ella C. Loose Foundation, an affiliated trust of the Greater Kansas City Community Foundation.
