The Kansas City Land Bank
Weekly Trash Collection & Recycling
The City’s Furnace Replacement Program was designed to help people with their heating equipment needs. It was created for single-family homeowners on a budget. Find out if you qualify for the program and maybe get a new energy efficient furnace here.
Visit the City’s website to request Free Bulky Item Removal of large items like sofas and broken televisions. You must schedule at least 48 hours in advance and move your item(s) to the curb to utilize this service. Complete details about how this program works (including a detailed list of all eligible items) are on the City’s website here.
Vacant lots and empty historic homes waiting for restoration are often issues in neighborhoods like Santa Fe Place. We encourage you to visit The Kansas City Land Bank to learn more about how you can get involved in KCMO’S urban revival.
Weekly Trash Collection begins at 7AM each Wednesday in Santa Fe Place. Each household may place two (2) bags at the curb beginning at 3PM on the day (Tuesday) before. Whenever possible, try and put your bags out between 6AM and 7AM on Wednesday mornings in order to minimize potential littering. Weeks that include Holidays generally cause our regular collection date (Wednesday) to be delayed by a day. You will find complete details about the City’s trash collection program here.
Recycling is also very important to us. Please do everything you can to recycle all eligible items. This contributes greatly to a clean, attractive neighborhood and also helps sustain the planet! The best ways to recycle are summarized here on the City’s website. And, if you follow those instructions, ALL of your recycling will get picked up each Wednesday alongside your trash (just by a different truck).
